Grand Blue Haki Guide
Observation, Armament, and Conqueror's — what each Haki does, where to unlock it, and how to use it in combat.
Haki is Grand Blue’s passive power layer. It does not cost mana, does not appear on your hotbar, and does not reset on death. It sits underneath everything — M1 chains, fruit skills, boss mechanics — and it makes a noticeable difference the moment you unlock your first type. This page covers the three Haki types, where to find each unlock NPC or location, and what each one actually does in combat.
You will find Haki referenced on the bosses, combat, and islands pages. This page is the single source of truth for the system itself.
The three Haki types
Observation Haki (Kenbunshoku). Detects invisible enemies, reveals hidden objects, and gives a brief glimpse of enemy intent before they attack. In plant contests, Observation tells you exactly which tree or plant is about to spawn before the visual flare appears. In PvP, it shows you which player is about to attack even through terrain.
Armament Haki (Busoshoku). Coats your weapons and Melee attacks in an invisible armor that bypasses certain enemy damage reductions. Bosses and high-difficulty NPCs in Grand Blue have defense values that normal attacks only partially penetrate. Armament Haki punches through that reduction on a per-hit basis. It also hardens your own Melee so you take reduced contact damage.
Conqueror’s Haki (Haoshoku). The rarest of the three. In most One Piece–inspired Roblox games, Conqueror’s is a localized AoE knockback that staggers lower-level enemies and players. Grand Blue appears to follow this pattern in Early Access — a burst effect that clears surrounding mooks and interrupts basic enemy attack chains. It does not work on bosses or high-level players.
Unlock order for Early Access
Observation Haki is the practical first unlock. The farm advantage alone — knowing spawn timers visually — pays for the quest time immediately. Armament Haki becomes valuable once you are doing island quests that involve damage-gated NPCs. Conqueror’s Haki, when available, is a PvP tool and mob-clear emergency button.
Observation Haki unlock
First unlock location is typically a trainer NPC on the starter island or in a central zone accessible after completing the first island quest chain. Check the Logbook for a Haki trainer marker. The quest typically involves:
- Finding the trainer NPC.
- Completing a short parkour or survival trial.
- Returning to the trainer to receive the Haki inscription.
After unlocking, Observation activates automatically. There is no hotbar slot. The visual indicator is a subtle aura that appears on your character when the Haki is detecting something.
Armament Haki unlock
Armament Haki requires a second trainer, usually located on a later island or in a zone that unlocks after reaching a specific level threshold. The trial is more demanding than Observation — typically a timed combat encounter against multiple Haki-using enemies.
Key tip: bring a friend or a high-level fruit kit to the trial. Armament Haki enemies in the trial hit harder than regular island mobs and can stagger your M1 chain.
Conqueror’s Haki unlock
Conqueror’s Haki is the rarest unlock and appears to require either a very high total level or completion of a specific world-quest chain. Early Access players report that the Conqueror’s trainer is located in a hard-to-reach zone accessible only after exploring multiple islands.
The unlock trial for Conqueror’s Haki is a solo endurance test against waves of enemies that escalate in difficulty. Preparation before this trial should include:
- Full skill bar with your best fruit.
- At least one Armament Haki upgrade.
- A supply of healing items if the game permits them during the trial.
Haki upgrades and mastery
Each Haki type has a mastery or upgrade track. Higher Observation Haki extends detection range and duration. Higher Armament Haki increases the penetration percentage and adds brief stagger on hit. Higher Conqueror’s Haki increases the knockback radius and reduces the cooldown between uses.
Upgrades appear to be tied to additional trainer NPCs or rare item exchanges. Check the Logbook after each major island completion for Haki upgrade markers.
Haki in PvP
Observation Haki in PvP shows you which player is targeting you, even through terrain or fruit effects that obscure vision. Armament Haki in PvP is a direct damage boost against players who have not unlocked Armament themselves. Conqueror’s Haki in PvP can interrupt another player’s skill chain if timed correctly — but the wind-up is slow enough that experienced PvP players will dodge before the burst lands.
Haki and fruit skills
Haki does not replace fruit skills. Observation does not make your fruit skills hit harder — it makes you harder to surprise. Armament does not add elemental damage — it adds physical penetration. The three Haki types layer under your existing kit, they do not compete with it.
When choosing builds, prioritize Observation first for the farming advantage, then Armament for boss doors, then Conqueror’s for PvP scenarios.
What is still unknown in Early Access
The exact upgrade costs, mastery cap, and whether Eternal Pose plans to add advanced Haki forms (like Advanced Observation or Ryou) are not yet in the public Logbook. This page will update when those details ship.
