Grand Blue runs two currencies side by side: Gold for gear and consumables, and Celestial Coins for Fruit Chests without Robux. Neither prints itself, and the difference between farming efficiently and grinding the wrong thing shows up around Level 30 when your first real ship bill arrives. This page covers what each currency does, how to earn it, and how to spend it without bankrupting a build.

Gold

Gold is the general-purpose currency. It buys weapons from shops, pays island gate tolls, funds crafting, and covers the first ship purchase. Gold does not buy Fruit Chests — that is a separate economy.

How to earn Gold:

• Quests are the primary source. Main story quests pay out reliably; repeatable quests scale with difficulty. Do not skip the repeatable loop once you outlevel the main story.
• Selling items from combat drops and life skill outputs at NPC vendors. Check whether a material is used in crafting before you sell it.
• Fishing tournaments and life-skill events occasionally pay bonus Gold. Check the Logbook for active event entries.

Do not spend Gold on Fruit Chests. A 1x Fruit Chest costs 1,200 Gold. That same 1,200 buys a weapon upgrade that makes the next island noticeably easier.

Celestial Coins

Celestial Coins are the premium-free currency tied to Fruit Chests. You cannot buy them with Robux directly — they are earned through gameplay. This makes them one of the most valuable resources in Early Access for free-to-play players who want rare fruits without spending money.

How to earn Celestial Coins:

• World Boss events — participation rewards include Celestial Coins. Bosses spawn approximately once per hour. World events.
• Achievement completions — open your Achievements menu and work through the list. Some achievements pay Celestial Coins directly.
• NPC quests marked with purple exclamation points — these special quests consistently reward Celestial Coins alongside their normal payouts.
• World event participation — any timed event on the map can pay Celestial Coins as a bonus reward.

Spending Celestial Coins:

• Fruit Chests in the in-game shop. Larger chests require significant coin amounts.
• Do not spend Celestial Coins on cosmetics. The coin-to-chest ratio is too valuable to waste on appearance.

• 1x Chest: 1,200 Gold
• 100x Chest: 98,000 Gold

The 100x chest is not a beginner purchase. It contains the same table as smaller chests, just more spins. The expected value on Uncommon fruits makes it a lottery ticket, not an investment.

What not to buy

• 100x Fruit Chests before Level 50. You do not have the island context to know whether you need Flame or Darkness, and Cannon plus Spin are half the table.
• Robux cosmetics that look strong. Tooltip details beat aesthetic claims every time.
• Race Rerolls with Gold if you still have Race Rerolls sitting in your code inventory.
• Gear for the wrong island. Crafting the next island’s weapon on the current island strands money.

Efficient farming routine

1. Clear daily repeatable quests on your current island.
2. Fish during minute 58-59 while waiting for fruit spawns.
3. Mine during travel between islands rather than treating transit as dead time.
4. Attend every world boss event and collect Celestial Coins.
5. Save Celestial Coins for Fruit Chest bundles rather than spending them on small single pulls.

Achievement hunting

The Logbook Achievement menu tracks progress toward milestones. Some achievements pay Gold, others pay Celestial Coins. Work through the list systematically — achievement hunting is the most passive efficient farming available.
