Grand Blue Builds

Fighting style plus fruit plus Traits that survive a ten-player island.

Builds

A Grand Blue build is three checkboxes: fighting style M1, a cursed fruit on 1–5, and two Trait slots. Race sits under those as a fourth checkbox you should not panic-reroll. Early Access does not have a 40-page theorycraft scene. It has a bandit-beater loop — the video in the middle of this page is people admitting that — and a handful of kits that do not collapse on island two.

Fruits ranked: fruit tier list. Combat floor: combat. Traits: races and traits.

Build 1 — Flame questing (default good)

  • Fruit: Flame
  • Style: whatever M1 you unlocked first
  • Traits: prefer fruit damage or cooldown if the wardrobe shows them; otherwise keep HP
  • Race: Human is fine
  • Use: island camps, hourly plants, first bosses

This is the “I got Mythic and I would like to finish the Logbook” build. Do not replace Flame because a stranger has Darkness. Darkness is S; Flame is also S for PvE.

Build 2 — Darkness control

  • Fruit: Darkness
  • Style: a string you can still confirm after a fruit animation
  • Traits: anything that extends CC or damage
  • Use: bosses, PvP docks, protecting a plant spawn

If you pull Celestial, the build is “do not die with it.” Eat immediately. Skip Trade Hub. Put skill 1 on a confirm, not a panic.

Build 3 — Wolf / Chop melee

  • Fruit: Wolf or Chop
  • Style: the fastest M1 you own
  • Traits: melee / Strength-like lines
  • Use: players who hate projectile kits

This is the Fruit Battlegrounds muscle-memory build. You live in M1 range. Spike players will poke you; dash through or do not pick this.

Build 4 — Drain survivor

  • Fruit: Drain
  • Style: anything with a defensive art
  • Traits: HP, regen, defense labels
  • Use: learning combat, dying less on island bosses

Drain is B on the fruit list and A for humans who click M2 too early. Swap later without losing mastery.

Build 5 — Cannon until something drops

  • Fruit: Cannon (or Spin if Cannon did not appear)
  • Style: still required
  • Traits: do not spend Mythic-chasing rerolls on this kit
  • Use: hour one, plant tagging from a roof

Cannon is C. It is also 25% of the table, so many of you live here. Play it, quest, take the next plant. The beginner guide exists so you do not reroll Race in shame.

Build 6 — Strength style main

  • Fruit: Strength
  • Style: highest mastery
  • Traits: melee
  • Use: if you like fighting styles more than fruits

Grand Blue still wants you to master styles. Strength is the fruit that admits that. Pair with controls until M1 is automatic.

What not to build

  • Spin forever. D-tier. Filler.
  • All Traits into 0.15% Mythic hunting before you have a fruit. See rerolls.
  • Empty bar, stacked cosmetics. Accessories that “make you stronger” still lose to a plant you walked past.
  • PvP-only glass on a 10-player PvE island. You will die to a camp, then a Marine, then the hour tick.

Faction colour is not a stat stick

Pirate versus Marine changes who shoots first on some docks. It does not replace Flame. Pick a colour on factions after the kit works.

Spending money inside a build

1x Fruit Chest (1,200) is a hole-filler. 100x (98,000) is a montage. Weapons and crafted gear come from quests; slot them when the Logbook says so, not when a thumbnail says CRAFT OP. Codes remain the only free Trait/Race lane: codes hub.

Updating these builds

When Eternal Pose ships a new style or fruit, we add a row instead of rewriting history. Early Access will make Build 5 look quaint. That is fine. Your Cannon mastery will still be there when you swap.

If you want a one-screen spend order for Traits after you pick a build, use the reroll planner.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Early Access pirates and marines.

What is the best Grand Blue build right now?

Flame questing if you have Flame, Darkness control if you have Darkness, Cannon-until-replaced if you have Uncommon.

Can I main fighting styles without a good fruit?

Yes. Strength Fruit plus a fast M1 is a real path. Empty fruit slots are not.

Should I reroll Race to match a YouTuber build?

No. Human is fine. Spend Race Rerolls after you know Pirate versus Marine and your fruit.

Is this a bandit beater?

The loop is island camps into bosses. Builds are for that loop, plus ten-player PvP on the docks.
