Grand Blue Cursed Fruits
Rarities, swap rules, and what to keep when a plant finally drops.
Cursed Fruits are the identity layer of Grand Blue. Eat one and your number keys become a kit. Eternal Pose copied the pirate-RPG promise — elemental powers, body effects, zoans — and then made two friendly rules that most rival games refuse: fruits spawn on plants every hour, and skill levels save per fruit when you swap. This page is the roster and those rules. Drop rates and chest math sit next door in how to get cursed fruits. Rankings sit in the fruit tier list.
The public roster
Rarities below are the community table used during Early Access. Percentages are drop weights, not a promise that a 100x chest contains one Darkness.
| Fruit | Rarity | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Darkness Fruit | Celestial | 0.5% |
| Flame Fruit | Mythic | 1.5% |
| Wolf Fruit | Legendary | 5% |
| Bomb Fruit | Epic | 6% |
| Chop Fruit | Epic | 6% |
| Drain Fruit | Rare | 10% |
| Spike Fruit | Rare | 10% |
| Strength Fruit | Rare | 10% |
| Cannon Fruit | Uncommon | 25% |
| Spin Fruit | Uncommon | 25% |
Uncommons are half the table. If you open chests expecting Darkness, the table is laughing at you. If you take the hourly plant, Uncommon is still a filled skill bar, which is the whole point of hour one. See getting started.
What each band is for
Darkness (Celestial). Headline fruit. Keep it. Kit details will expand as Eternal Pose ships more Logbook pages; do not recycle it into a chest because a trader in a 10-player server offered Cannon plus a shirt.
Flame (Mythic). The Mera-style fruit. Early Access clips already show fire on the skill bar and beach clears. If you main islands and camps, Flame is the comfortable Mythic. The video in the middle of this page is a Flame session, not a theorycraft slideshow.
Wolf (Legendary). Zoan-shaped. Expect a form or pressure kit rather than a logia-style body pass. Use it if you like M1 extended by a transform. Pair thoughts live on builds.
Bomb and Chop (Epic). Bomb is crowd clear. Chop is body-effect style (you will see players treat it as a “parts don’t care” melee fruit). Both are legitimate until Celestial drops. Do not eat them and then immediately buy a 40x chest in shame.
Drain, Spike, Strength (Rare). Drain is sustain. Spike is poke / zone. Strength is raw melee amp. These three are the “I got something from a plant and I can finish the island” band.
Cannon and Spin (Uncommon). Cannon is a projectile bar. Spin is a mobility / gimmick bar. They exist so the 25% line is not empty. Use them. Replace them. Mastery saves.
Swap rule, said plainly
The official description: Cursed Fruit skill levels save for each fruit, so you should not worry about swapping off. That means:
- Eating Flame after you leveled Cannon does not delete Cannon mastery.
- Re-eating Cannon later returns the old skill levels.
- The thing you lose is whatever unique drop you consumed, not the XP.
You still lose the physical fruit item when you eat. You do not lose the progress track. Hunt more fruits on the hour; do not freeze on Spin because you are scared of a wipe that the game already disabled.
Plants versus chests versus other methods
Eternal Pose says there are multiple ways to obtain fruits and tells you to search for them all. Confirmed in public info:
- Hourly spawn on trees and plants.
- Fruit Chests at six bundle sizes (1 / 3 / 10 / 20 / 40 / 100) with listed money prices.
Bosses, quests, and PvP steals may exist as extra lanes. Until the Logbook names them, treat them as bonuses, not a plan. The spawn timer is the free lane reminder.
Eating advice for Early Access
- Empty bar? Eat whatever dropped.
- Uncommon while you already have Rare or better? Store or wait if the game gives a hold option; if the only action is eat-or-lose, eat only if the new fruit is a tier up.
- Flame or Darkness? Eat and build around it. Change Traits to match using rerolls.
- Never trade Celestial on a 10-player server to a name you just met.
Fighting styles still matter
Fruits do not replace M1. Controls and combat are still the floor. A Darkness user who cannot finish an M1 string loses to a Strength user who can. Rank fruits for the kit they add, not as a skip-combat button.
When Eternal Pose adds more names to the table, they will show up here and on the tier list together so the two pages do not disagree.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Early Access pirates and marines.
What is the rarest fruit in Grand Blue?
Darkness Fruit at Celestial 0.5%. Flame Fruit is next at Mythic 1.5%.
Do fruit levels reset when I swap?
No. Skill levels save per fruit. Swapping off does not wipe mastery.
Should I eat Spin Fruit?
Yes if your skill bar is empty. Replace it when a Rare or better plant spawn appears.
Is Flame Fruit good?
It is the Mythic fire kit and a strong Early Access keep. Use it for island camps and then reassess after more fruits ship.
